The festival aims to support and encourage women and women-led groups that promote organic farming by supporting their local community’s economy, creating jobs and engaging farmers.

Women farmers from remote corners of the country such as Majuli, Kangra, Leh, Palakkad, Chikkamagalur, Yavatmal, Dimapur and Almora participated in the event.

Touted to be one of its kind organic festival in India, the festival saw the debut of Food Court and Vegan Food this year. Home-grown organic veggies saw a plethora of buyers at the IGNCA. The sale recorded a positive response not only during the weekends but also during the weekdays.

One of the participants, Aparna of AIM for Seva from Tamil Nadu said,

This is the first time I’ve come here and I am heartened by the positive response our multi-grain products received. I’d like to thank the Ministry of Women and Child Development for giving us this opportunity.

The participants also got an opportunity to enrol themselves in Mahila-E-Haat, an online marketing portal set up by the Ministry of Women and Child Development. The portal was aimed to train women entrepreneurs for the skills required by them.
